Questions and answers

How is the monthly cost calculated?

API calls per month × (input tokens × input price + output tokens × output price) ÷ 1,000,000. Cached input uses the provider's cache-read price; with Batch API on, models that publish batch prices use them.

Why can the real bill differ?

Each provider splits text into tokens differently, so the same text is a different number of tokens on different models. Taxes, volume discounts, free tiers, cache-write fees, tool and search fees are not included.

What do caching and Batch API change?

Caching bills repeated input (instructions, history, documents) at a much lower rate. Batch API processes requests asynchronously, usually within 24 hours, at a lower price. Not every model has batch prices; those rows show the standard price.

Where do the prices come from?

From each provider's official pricing page. We check the pages daily and an editor reviews every change before it is published. The date of the prices is shown above the table.
